What is Bio-Garlic?
Bio-Garlic contains tablets with highly concentrated garlic. One tablet contains 300 mg of dried garlic powder with a standardized content of the alliin. Bio-Garlic is produced in a way that preserves the active ingredients and their enzyme activity that is known from fresh garlic.
When alliin comes into contact with the enzyme alliinase they form allicin. Allicin is what gives garlic its characteristic odor. Alliin and allinase are contained in different parts of the garlic clove. They mix if you cut, slice, chop or chew the clove.
The tablets in Bio-Garlic are coated to prevent them from dissolving in the stomach. The tablets remain intact and do not dissolve until they reach the small intestine. Here, alliinase and allicin react and are converted into allicin. Because of the delayed action, their content of alliin and alliinase is protected against the stomach acid. Also, it reduces significantly the risk of garlic breath.
Strength
Ingestion of 2-3 tablets of Bio-Garlic per day is equivalent to ½ -1 clove of garlic or 1.8-2.7 g of fresh garlic.

What is garlic?
Garlic (Allium sativum) is a bulbous plant that originally comes from Central and South Asia. It has been used as food and as a medicinal herb for thousands of years. Garlic contains a wide variety of active substances in the form of active sulfur compounds, volatile oils, fatty acids, enzymes, amino acids, vitamins and minerals, and many more.
About heart and blood pressure
When the heart beats it creates pressure that pushes blood through the blood vessels. The blood pressure is a result of two forces. The first force occurs as blood pumps out of the heart and into the arteries. This is called the systolic blod pressure. The second force is created as the heart rests between heart beats. This is called the diastolic blood pressure. A normal blood pressure at rest should ideally lie somewhere between 100-140 (systolic pressure) and 60-90 (diastolic pressure).

Bio-Garlic is a very safe product and is generally well tolerated. Because the tablets dissolve in the small intestine, the problem with garlic breath has been eliminated. In case there is slight garlic odor from the mouth or skin, chewing gum, chlorophyll tablets, or fresh parsley may come in handy.
As a precaution, it is recommended not to take garlic preparations 1-2 weeks before surgery. This is because of garlic's effect as an anticoagulant.
